The Big Day: Don't panic!
On the day, I’m not just there to deliver your ceremony, but to be your go-to for all things ‘I do’!
I’ll get there early to coordinate with vendors, herd your guests into the right place and keep the chaos at bay!
When my work is done I'll slip off into the evening while you're stuffing your face, and call you in a few weeks to debrief.

What's the difference between me and a Registrar?
The legal bit;
To get legally married in the UK you would need the ceremony to be conducted by a Registrar from the Local Authority. That's probably what you think of when you think of a typical "wedding"; where you can't really remember that talky bit but had a lovely glass of bubbly waiting for you when it was done.
Of course, my ceremonies are anything but typical and I'm guessing so are you?
Celebrants have been one of the most popular trends of the last few years, and for good reason! I won't be bashing Registrar Ceremonies here (peace and love only!), but there are some restrictions you should know about. For example;
- you have to get married in a Licensed Venue. That means no back gardens, no mountains or lakes, no favorite pubs (unless you're lucky) and no family farms.
- you won't know them. Generally, you'll meet the Registrar in the morning, have a quick scary interview, then straight down the Aisle.
- you're restricted in what you can do and say. You'll need to say the "proper" words, as will the Registrar. So getting your Shakespeare on and writing long and lovely personal commitments and vows is out the window I'm afraid! No games, no drinks, no quirky touches or lovely symbolic elements.
- they are over in a flash! The usual length of a Registrar Ceremony is about 15 to 20 minutes long, which, when you've waited your whole life for that moment, can seem a bit anti-climatic!
You've got lots of options when it comes to the legalities. Here are some ideas;
Don't bother!
Hang on, just hear me out! Lots of couple's now are deciding against the legally binding element of a marriage, instead focusing on the words and promises made to each other in their beautiful ceremony, with friends and family as witnesses. Afterall, that's the important part!
Do it before or after!
My personal favourite- make a moment of it! Really like the idea of a micro wedding but can't disappoint all those potential guests? Well, have an amazing day that your guests will love, including all those "have-to invite" people! Then, you can have your micro wedding with closest family and friends at the local Town Hall, maybe a nice pub lunch and maybe even a second outfit! The best of both worlds.
Do it together!
Arrange a Registry Office 2X2 (learn more about that in the link below) the morning of the big day, then when you arrive at your venue of choice, walk down that Aisle hand in hand to your stunning ceremony! Or, nip off during the drinks reception to sign your papers and waltz into your Wedding Breakfast as legally wed.
